James (Jamie) Buford Banks, age 50, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence in Booneville, KY.

Jamie was born November 12, 1973, in Hazard, KY, a son to James Banks and Lana (Sandlin) Dalton. He worked as an auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years; Ivah (Turner) Banks, his parents; James Banks of Booneville, KY, and Lana Dotson of Pikeville, KY, grandmother; Rose Sandlin of Beattyville, KY, 1 son; James Buford Banks of Lexington, KY, 2 daughters; Megan (John) Barnhart of Morehead, KY, Jamia Banks of Hazard, KY, 2 brothers; Ronnie Banks and Joey Banks both of Beattyville, KY, 4 grandchildren; Aubree, Allie, Sheila, ad Henry, along with many other loving family members and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by his grandfather; Buford Sandlin, 1 brother; Kevin Gabbard. Funeral services Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Morgan officiating. Jamie was laid to rest in the Johnson Cemetery located in the Morris Fork community of Breathitt County. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
