Cleveland Young,

Cleveland Young, widower of Marie Williams Young and the son of the late David and Ida Reece Young was born in Yellow Rock, Kentucky on October 28, 1941 and departed this life in Versailles, Kentucky on March 14, 2024 at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 17 days. He was a Kentucky Colonel, retired as Supervisor of the Woodford County Road Department after 24 years and retired as a Volunteer Firefighter after serving for 31 years.

Mr. Young is survived by his daughter, LuAnn Campbell and her husband Shawn; his bonus grandson, Seth Campbell all of Lexington, Kentucky; 13 brothers and sisters, Martha Revel of Fairfield, Ohio, Shelton Young of Union, Ohio, Hubert Young and wife Betty of Lexington, Louise Watson, Mary Begley and husband Charles, Nancy Rose and husband Jerry all of Irvine, Kentucky, Joe Young and wife Judy of Beattyville, Kentucky, Clyde Young and wife Patty, Wanda Mainous, Mae Pasley and husband Scottie, Norma Rogers and husband Austin all of Irvine, Hazel Worley and husband Leon, and Ernest Young and wife Samantha of Irvine; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by one brother, David Young, Jr. His brothers and nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Woodford County Volunteer Fire Department Station 1.

Services held March 19th, 2024 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville and Beatty Place Cemetery located New Yellow Rock Rd (Lee Co), prior to burial. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
