Betty Jean Angel, 92, departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born on January 1, 1934, in Beattyville, Kentucky, Betty was the daughter of the late Arnold and Luvice McIntosh. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Betty loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. As a dedicated homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating a loving home.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters, Wanda L. Cornish, Lucy (Gary) Blankenship, and Rosemary (James) Florence; seven grandchildren, Walter Harper, Sherry Galati, Melissa Christie, Betty Christie, Angela Whitt, Alison Silvas, and Christopher Blankenship; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ruby Angel Christie; one granddaughter; one great-grandson one brother, Harold Conrad; and two sisters, Dorothy Faye Ross and Maudie Bernice Ross: her son-in-law Doug; and her ex-husband Chester.
A funeral service celebrating Betty's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507, with Bro. Steven Wainwright, Bro. Dale Adams, and Bro. Adrian McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at The Lexington Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home and 12:00 to 2:00pm on Tuesday.
