Marie Smith Wheeler

Marie Smith Wheeler, age 67, departed from this Earth to her eternal home in Heaven on August 29, 2023, where she was greeted by a host of family members & friends that had gone before her. Marie was born on December 5, 1955, on the Lucky Fork in Buffalo, Owsley County, KY, a daughter to the late Edwin and Edna Helton Smith. She was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Church. She loved the Lord, and ministered through her anointing to worship, as she sang at numerous churches & events. Many will fondly remember her singing & playing guitar, or playing piano, as she shared her heart for Christ with others. Aside from her love for music, Marie also had a passion for traveling, as she vacationed in many locations. She loved camping, the outdoors, and spending time with those she loved. Those who loved her, will always remember her laughing & enjoying life. She was the widow of Asbury Smith, and later met, and married Ronald wheeler, whom she was recently widowed from following his battle with a terminal illness. Marie was also preceded in death by her daughter; Teresa Lynn Smith, stepson; Barry Wayne Smith, brothers; Oscar Smith, Michael Wayne Smith, Ronnie Helton, and Donnie Helton, sisters; Phyllis Smith, and Nadine McIntosh, as well as other family members and friends. She is survived by her son; Brian Scott Smith of Booneville, KY, grandson; Tyler Smith of Lexington, KY, Stepson; Curt (Kimberly) Smith of Owenton, KY, sister; Gracie (Raymond) McIntosh of Owenton, KY, brothers; Raymond, Lee Jr. (Betty), Carl, David (Jennifer), and Seldon Bob (Patricia), all of Booneville, KY, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who all loved her, and will remember her fondly. Funeral services September 2, 2023 at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastors Rob Morgan, and Bill Wesley officiating. Burial; Cow Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery located in Booneville, KY.
